“A Certain Slant of Sunlight”

Melbourne Art Book Fair

in the Great Hall
National Gallery of Victoria
Thursday 14th – Sunday 17th March, 2019

As we build a new online store, and stock it with the titles we released at the recent NGV Melbourne Art Book Fair, and Sticky Institute’s Festival of the Photocopier Zine Fair, there is time to tip one’s head back and feel the colours of Leonard French’s stained glass ceiling upon one’s face.

Sixty views, as shared on instagram, in “a certain slant of light”. Views, in random order, for all is a jumble, from the fifth book fair within the Great Hall, in the middle of the frenzied twirl and rip of Dance Massive 2019, for your enjoyment and ours too. Posting for own archivist leanings, and for when things feel heavy as well. Sharing, for memory, because this is how it looks and feels now. All together, and violet.

Also happening at the same time as the fair, Kerry J. Fowler’s book launch featuring a drawing of an owl in flight by Louise, to accompany her earlier Meow. Also pictured here, those quiet moments before the fair, pricing the last of the prints and zines in the company of Lenni, Olive, and Lots.

March, a brilliant, massive, light-of-mood march.

Perhaps you will spot yourself in the crowd. Perhaps you’ll come along, next time around.

Thank-you.
